The Kohimarama Way
Student voice was used to select the native birds that best reflected our learner dispositions as represented in the image above. This image can be found above the main playground area in the school. There are also 3D birds placed around the trees around the school for students to try to find.
Our values are represented by symbols that reflect the sign language for them. These circles can be found in the hall and around the entrances to the school. We bring these alive in our language and use of sign. These are also reflected in the school waiata that was written specifically for our school.
By using Maori and sign we are honouring the fact that these are the two official languages of New Zealand
