Welcome to Kohimarama School!
Kohimarama School is a Decile 10, public, co-educational school. Students are enrolled from Year One to Year Eight, age ranges from 5 – 13 years old. The school is located in beautiful Mission Bay, and 10 minutes from the centre of Auckland City.
Kohimarama School has been at the heart of the Kohimarama community for over 100 years and has stood the test of time as has our motto ‘Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve‘.
Our Campus encompasses our original 1921 school building and is supported by additional blocks of classes that reflect the learning of that time while now capturing a modern learning environment.
We have become known for our continued record of high achievement. Behind this success is a clear sense of purpose, and an incredibly strong community of parents, teachers and students.
Our children are growing up in a constantly changing world where they will encounter different types of jobs, technologies and world challenges. The Kohimarama Way underpins how we’re preparing them to succeed in this world by teaching them new ways of learning and working together to solve problems. It supports our desire to develop positive habits and character in our children.
Our children learn to belong and achieve through rich and varied learning experiences as we prepare them to be well-rounded learners and leaders of the future. Our courses cover areas such as writing, photography, music, literature, debate, visual arts and mathematics including education outside the classroom, school sport, the school band programme, the choir, dance groups, Kapa Haka and the hotly contested house challenge system.
We have a team of highly educated and experienced teachers who are dedicated, and professional to become our educational leaders.
