Kohimarama School is actively developing its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) teaching programme and resources to meet the demands of the new Digital Technologies Curriculum. This will bring a range of new challenges for your child, among them computer programming.
From next year, we are partnering with Code Champions to offer students an after-school computer coding course. This is a great opportunity to develop this important digital skill.
Classes will be held at school and are for Year 5-8 students. They will be small and grouped by age/ability. Places are limited.
- When: Tuesdays after-school. 7 x 1 hour sessions in Term 1 2018.
- Cost: $175
- A computer and software are provided
The aim of Code Champions is to introduce your child to the basic principles of computer programming. During the course they will learn in a way that’s engaging, effective and fun. Each class will combine instruction with hands-on activity, working towards solving puzzles and creating apps/games.
