A Message from the Deputy Principals

Congratulations to our 2022 Student Leaders.  It is wonderful to see so many students willing to step up into leadership positions to support our school and we thank every student who applied whether you were successful this year or not.  We look forward to working with these students throughout the year and are confident that they will make a positive difference to Kohimarama School. The student leadership roles are:

Student Council Organise fundraising, school assembly, Disco, and other school events.

House Captain – Support any sporting events or challenges within our school.

Ambassador – Ensure new students feel welcome to our school.

Peer Mediators – Support students in the playgrounds.

Librarians – Support Mrs Diatchenko and students in the library.

Road Patrollers – Ensure we all cross our roads safely.

The Kohimarama Way – Compassion

Compassion is an action word with no boundaries.  “Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.”  Compassion is showing someone they matter.

Absences

Thank you to everyone who is phoning their children in absent. This is a great help in the morning when there are many students away. When phoning your child in absent please remember to specify reason for absence, for example sick with flu or dentist appointment.

Parent Help Needed – Parent supervision still needed please

Are you able to give 30 minutes in the morning from 8.25 until 8.55 am to support our Road Patrollers on Kohimarama Road or Rawhitiroa Road?  They have been trained, but need an adult with them at all times. We need adults for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday and Friday on Kohimarama Road and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and alternate Fridays for Rawhitiroa Road.  We will ensure you knowwhat to do and have support if needed until you are comfortable doing it by yourself.  Parents willing to support our students in this way need a double vaccine pass.  A booster will be required by March 1st.Interested, please contact Meegan Hill mhill@kohimarama.school.nz
