Dear Parents and Caregivers
You will have heard the Prime Minister announce yesterday afternoon that Auckland will remain at Alert Level 3 for the next 14 days. The next review will occur on Monday 1 November. This means that we will continue with our online learning until further notice.
Our online learning is designed so that teachers and students can continue to meet, via Google Meets, and share learning via our online tools including SchoolTalk. The learner design is specific to teachers and teams and is designed to be able to be completed by students. Teachers are available outside of the meet times to support and guide students in
their learning. Teachers continue to monitor and assess each student in their learning. This term we are employing our part time teachers to further enhance online learning by supporting individuals and groups of students across the school. A separate connection will therefore be made for some students to attend additional Google Meets during the week. This will begin later this week.
The school continues to work through the requirements of the government’s mandated Covid testing and vaccinations for all staff at schools. This process of gathering information and recording on a secure register will be in place before students return to the site.
The New Zealand Education Gazette is published bi-monthly and is distributed to all schools and public buildings including libraries. This year the Education Gazette is celebrating 100 years, which by coincidence. is our 100th year as well. In this month’s Gazette an article appears about Kohimarama School.

I’d like to thank you, the parents, for your continued efforts to support your children alongside the school.
Kind regards
Paul Engles
