Covid-19 – 8 September 2021

08 September 2021

Dear Parents and Caregivers

You will have heard the Prime Minister confirm on Monday of this week that Auckland will remain at Alert Level 4 at this time. A decision regarding the Auckland situation will be made on Monday 13th September.

Kohimarama School will remain closed at Alert Level 4 for all students. Distance learning continues to be the way in which we continue teaching and learning. I’m sure you will join me in thanking staff for the way in which they have modified their teaching and supported students in a variety of ways including Google Meets each day.

Thank you parents for your support of the learning at home. We know that this can provide additional requirements on families during this time. We do recognise that families are in different circumstances and understand how this can impact. Thank you for all you do.

I am watching the daily briefings and sitting in on the Ministry of Education working group regarding the Auckland COVID response. To this end Kohimarama School is currently confirming our plans to move to Alert Level 3. Later this week I will send home a letter to outline our plans and seek feedback on students who may need to come to school at Alert Level 3. Remember that, in this Delta outbreak, remaining at home is the best way of maintaining a secure bubble for your family.

In the meantime, keep safe in your bubbles.

Yours sincerely

Kind regards
Paul Engles
Principal
