Dear Parents and Caregivers
You will be aware that Auckland will be remaining in Alert Level 4 for the next fortnight. A further announcement of our Alert Level is due on 13 September.
The teaching staff supported by Learner Assistants continue to work in the distance learning environment. Google meets each day enables; maintaining teacher student relationships, checking in on learning, seeing each other and having fun with games and activities i.e. maintaining class socialisation.
I have just finished a meeting with Team Leaders and Deputy Principals with regard to the continuation of the schools programme over the next fortnight. They report that we have high engagement with the learning and that students love to participate in the Google Sessions. Thank you for all you do to enable children to continue to learn in these unsettling times. I know that you are all working at home as well and understand that this is different for each family. You can contact your child’s teacher about the learning via email.
School Counsellor
Remember that you can contact the Kohimarama School Counsellor by email counsellor@kohimarama.school.nz if you have any concerns for your child regarding the lockdown etc. You know your children well and if this support would help then please make contact via the email.
School Centennial Celebrations – 10/11 September – Postponed to Early 2022 The Centennial Open Day and events scheduled for the 10th and 11th September have been postponed. A new date in early 2022 will be announced as soon as possible.
Centennial Gala Dinner – 18 September
This event will be rescheduled for early 2022, and the PTA will be in touch as soon as possible with more details. It is hoped those who planned to attend will still be able to join us, however if you would like to be refunded for your ticket please contact the PTA at kohigaladinner@gmail.com
