A Message from Cowley Team

Cowley Team’s thoughts about Greats and Grans Day

We were so lucky to have our grandparents come to school to visit our classrooms and spend the morning with us.

Here are comments from our Year 2 students:

Grandparents Day was so fun, I wanted it to stay for the whole day. I wish my Grandma could come as well but she is in Japan so she can’t come.
(Maddy, Room 8)

I love my nan because she gives me ice-blocks. On Grandparents Day I played noughts and crosses and hopscotch. I loved it so so much. We did a card about my nan. (Theo, Room 8)

Today it was Grandparents day but unfortunately my Grandparents couldn’t come. Ambra let me share her Grandparent. Ambra’s Grandma watched me and Ambra do word search. I felt happy. (Aria, Room 7)

Today my Grandparent came to Kohimarama School. My Grandparent was chatting. My Grandparent is called Cynthia. My Grandparent is very special to me. She loves me very much. (Archer, Room 7)

Year 3 had a fantastic time sharing their Basic Facts games with their grandparents or with a special buddy. The Basic Facts games were ones they designed themselves
or remembered playing with their families. Lots of fantastic instructional writing went into making these.

We also shared our work, taught our grandparents how to do some coding and played a fun dice and drawing game called ‘Roll a Grandparent’.

Arohanui,
Cowley Team

Absences

If your child is away due to sickness please ensure you make contact before 9.30am. This can be done by phone (930-9826), email (office@kohimarama.school.nz) or by filling in the website absence form. Please include your childs name and class and the reason for their absence ie. tummy bug. This needs to be done each day they are away.

If your child is absent because of a holiday, please apply for leave by emailing (office@kohimarama.school.nz). You will need to include the dates you will be away, your childs name and class and the reason for their absence ie. holiday

Through old photos we are able to see the changes that have happened around the school grounds over the years.
