A Message from the Deputy Principals

National Young Leaders Day

The National Young Leaders Day is an annual event for our Ambassadors, House Captains and Student Leaders.  The theme of the day was ‘Stronger Together’. We were inspired by a man named Cam Calken who has cerebral palsy.  He shared his journey to becoming a speaker on the circuit. This was followed by an ex black sticks player – Brooke Neal, who walked us through the challenges of becoming a top sports person. After that we heard from a Young New Zealander of the Year recipient – Shay Wright who talked about being an entrepreneur.  Finally, we were delighted to hear from Julian Dennison – alias Rikki Baker.

Our students were all amazing and took every opportunity to be involved.

The day finished up with a concert and what a day it was. Thanks to all the parents who helped out and to Miss Hill for all the organisation behind the day.

Fun at the School Disco
Thank you to our Student Leaders who organised our fabulous School Disco – Winter Wonderland on Friday.  They were responsible for designing the posters that were in every classroom and the tickets.  They decided on the theme and what decorations would have the most impact in the hall for the Disco night as well as prizes.  In addition, they attended the Junior Disco as well, to ensure our junior students had a fun time – an incredible group of students who are positive role models in our school. A special thanks also to our staff, who gave up their evening to come and support the school Disco.  We have a dedicated staff who are committed to our students and their well-being.  DJ Dave was at his usual enthusiastic and fun best – we danced and danced.  A fabulous time was had by all, check out the photos.
