Event News

Wow, who can believe there are only two weeks left of the term, let’s hope the school holidays gives us some sunny weather to enjoy. The PTA has had a really busy month of June with the Quizathon and Trivia Night, not to mention planning for the Gala dinner in full swing. The money raised from these two successful events are going towards an outside interactive classroom, off the hall, as a complementary room for learning. Work is expected to start in the term holidays on this.

Quizathon

Thank you to all the kids for participating in the Quizathon. This event raised just over $7000! and room 8 won the prize for getting the most number of studnets to return their quiz money. No doubt they enjoyed their ice block last Friday.  

If you still need to return your form, it is not too late, you can take it to the box in the school office and make direct payment to Kohimarama School PTA 12-3027-0332092-00. 

Trivia Night

We had a great night with a fully sold out crowd at Trivia Night. Everyone was in great spirits and danced till the DJ couldn’t play no more! Did you know DJ Karl is a dad of the school who moved here from the States recently, aren’t we lucky to have an international star!

This event raised just over $11,000! We can’t thank you enough for your generosity.

Gala Invites Heading Your Way!

This week you will receive an invitation via your eldest child at the school for the Centennial Gala. The event will be held on the 18th September and is set to be a glamourous 1920’s theme, to celebrate 100 years. Think black, gold and glitz.  You can get more information on the Gala Dinner page.

This is our biggest school fundraiser and with COVID last year we have not had one for 3 years. The funds will go to covering the concrete area in Cowley with Astro grass and sails above to provide shade. As well as new gates at the front and side of the school to keep the children safe from wandering onto the surrounding streets. This will complement new fencing the ministry is committed to.

Timeless Images have again offered their generous family portrait package to our school community.

For 4 more weeks Kohimarama School families have the opportunity to buy a Family Portrait Gift Package valued at $850 for just $95 and ALL of this money goes directly to the school. Help Needed for Scholastic Book Club

Our current parent who helps co-ordinate the Scholastic Book Club will be leaving the school at the end of the year and we are on the hunt for someone who could take this role over. If we could do a handover in Term 3 that will allow plenty of time to learn the ropes. It is approximately 3 hours a term. It involves:

• Opening the orders/ closing orders online.
• Date stamp each catalogue and divide it into the pigeon holes for the teachers to hand out
• Unpack delivery order and deliver book to each class room.
