Quizathon
Thank you to all the kids for participating in the Quizathon last week. We all learnt lots of interesting facts about Kohimarama School and found some of these questions a real challenge, great work!
The forms are in and we are working through them to find out who has won the the individual and class awards. They will be announced at assembly this week. If you still need to return your form you can take it to the box in the school office and make direct payment to Kohimarama School PTA 12-3027-0332092-00.
Trivia Night: Around the World!
We are all booked in with a great turnout for Trivia Night this Friday. The doors open at 6.00pm and the quiz will run from 6.30-9.00pm.
The Table Names registered are sounding creative and fabulous, we are looking forward to seeing you all in costume and ready to quiz. Then DJ Karl will get us on the dance floor!

Centennial Help
We have a core group of about 6 people, both parents and staff, who are working hard to plan the school Centennial Celebrations on September 11. It’s a really special event for the school and the kids are all excited to be a part of it but it’s going take a bigger group to make it happen.
The team have a great plan in place but need some people who can step into help execute, both with organisation and on the day. If you think you could help please contact them at centennial@kohimarama.school.nz or you can talk to Karen in the office.
Gala Auction Items
We’re starting our big drive for Gala Auction items and you will see a letter coming home with more detail about this in the coming weeks.
Historically a number of families who have beach houses have kindly offered them to be auctioned for a few days or a weekend, however many of these families are no longer at the school and we don’t have so many opportunities to do this. If you have a beach house please consider this as an option, you can arrange to meet the people who win it, it’s a great way to give to the school, and one of our families will get to share in your small piece of paradise for a few days.

Regular Activities
If you buy ‘Yummy’ branded fruit collect the stickers or bag labels and we can exchange them for new sport equipment. Go to the Yummy Stickers page for more info.
We have a range of items. Prices depend on condition; roughly $25 fleeces, $15 polo t-shirts, $20 skorts and shorts, $15 sports t-shirts. Go to the Second-hand Uniforms page for more info.
Have you thought about joining a school walking bus? A short drive can be an amazing walk! If you’re interested in joining, go to the Walking School Bus page.
For an ice-block or slice of pizza (cheese or ham & pineapple) on Fridays, send along $2. They will be sold 1.15-1.30pm out of the Hall Kitchen window.
Look out for this term’s Scholastic Book Club flyers in the book bags. Please place any orders online (or view the online flyer) at the Scholastic Book Club. No paper orders will be accepted.
Pre-order by the end of the day Tuesday and fresh sushi will be delivered to school for your child’s Wednesday lunch. Go to the Sushi Wednesdays page for instructions.
