Welcome back to Term 2, hopefully everyone is refreshed from a holiday and ready for a full term of activities within our school community, we have many planned for you!
The PTA held our AGM last night and once we had we conducted the formalities of the evening Paul acknowledged the efforts of all the parents who contribute in activities such as walking school bus, sushi, ice blocks and teacher appreciation gifts. We are fortunate to have so much help and it makes such a difference to the running of the school so thank you!
Trivia Night: Around the World!
Save June 18 for the return of our famous Trivia Night. Start forming your table of 8-12 and getting your costume together for a night celebrating all those fabulous places Around the World that we can’t visit right now.
Back by popular demand, Sam Thom will again be our quiz master and then we have DJ Karl stepping in to get us on the dance floor once the quiz is over.
If your class hasn’t had a chance to hold an event yet then this could be a good occasion to do so and form a table together.
Working Bee
We’re still looking for more helpers to come along and help out at the Working Bee on May 16. We will be at school from 10-2 and focusing on planting to get the school looking its best for the Centennial celebrations. We’ll have pizzas to keep everyone energised. Please let Caroline know if you can make it at ACCC@windowslive.com.
Centennial Celebrations Help Needed
It’s an exciting year for Kohimarama School as we celebrate its Centennial. To assist with our planning and to help the Centennial celebrations be as successful as possible we are actively seeking for help with the following;
Photographer, Videographer, Copywriter, AV technician skills
If you have any expertise in these areas or know of someone who is able to assist, please contact us on centennial@kohimarama.school.
Centennial Gala Auction Items
Thank you for the great initial offers of Auction Items to be sold at the Gala in September. We have had gym memberships, haircuts, holiday homes and one parent is even making a one-off quilt for us to auction!
However this is just the beginning, the Gala is the main source of fundraising for the school and it has been 3 years since the last one. We need a lot more items to auction, both big and small and rely on support from you all to provide these, please think about what you can offer.
We are also looking for a catering contact that is able to help us keep the costs of dinner down. If you know a catering company that could help please get in touch at kohiptachair@gmail.com
Thank you!
Friends of the PTA
The PTA is always looking for extra helping hands for the many different activities that go on within our school.
We know that there are so many parents out here who want to help but can’t commit to meetings or responsibilities on a regular basis, so we’re creating a ‘Friends of the PTA’ WatsApp group. This should help us communicate more directly with you and make it easier to find help when we need it.
If you’d like to be a part of this please send your name and phone number to kohiptachair@gmail.com and we’ll look forward to keeping you in the loop.
