Working Bee – Thank you!
We had a great day on Sunday with over 40 volunteers who came out to help us with some gardening. We made a big impact in a short time which was a great feeling. We also had over 30 kids helping out in the gardens and running around doing a rubbish collection. Thank you to all of you for your hard work, everyone earned their pizza and drinks at the end. The past two day’s rain hasn’t been ideal for the kids at school, but the new plants will be glad of it!
Trivia Night: Around the World!
Trivia night is back on June 18!
The doors open at 6.00pm and the quiz will run from 6.30-9.00pm and be run by the very popular Sam Thom, then DJ Karl is stepping in to get us on the dance floor once the quiz is over.
You can form a table of 8-12 and book for everyone or if you don’t have enough to make a table let us know we will help match you up with people from your year group. As before you can pre-order pizza and wine to have waiting for you when you arrive.
Choose your theme related to anything Around the World and then you can register and book food HERE
If your class hasn’t had a chance to hold an event yet then this could be a good occasion to do so and form a table together. Be sure to register your table early so that you don’t miss out!
Quizathon
You’ll have seen Quizathon forms coming home yesterday and this year being the Centennial, the theme is the history of Kohimarama school. Good luck signing up sponsors and learning the answers to your questions, Quiz day will be on June 2.
Centennial Celebrations Help Needed
You will hopefully have seen the Centennial flag up outside the main entrance to the school and I know at least in our house the kids are feeling proud and excited to be a part of such a special year. We still need help with pulling together the celebrations and will ask again for anyone who can contribute in the follow areas; Photographer, Videographer, Copywriter, AV technician skills
If you have any expertise in these areas or know of someone who is able to assist, please contact us on centennial@kohimarama.school.
Centennial Gala Auction Items
Thank you for the great initial offers of Auction Items to be sold at the Gala in September. We have had gym memberships, haircuts, holiday homes and one parent is even making a one-off quilt for us to auction!
However this is just the beginning, the Gala is the main source of fundraising for the school and it has been 3 years since the last one. We need a lot more items to auction, both big and small and rely on support from you all to provide these, please think about what you can offer and get in touch at kohiptachair@gmail.com. Thank you!
Friends of the PTA
We have had a great response to our new Friends of the PTA WatsApp group and it is already making it easier to organise help for PTA events so thank you!
If you would like to be a part of this you can message us at any time and we will include you, just send your name and phone number to kohiptachair@gmail.com.
