Welcome back to school, again! Weren’t we lucky to get a full week in at school before our second lockdown for 2021. These lock downs have meant as a PTA group we have had to rethink how we work together virtually and some of our activities. We are excited about the Family Fun to be held on 26th March. There has been lots of planning going on and it is shaping up to be a really fun night for all ages.
Sushi Wednesday and Pizza/Ice block Friday will return when we return to level 1. Fingers crossed that is next week. We are still looking for volunteers to assist with Pizza/Ice blocks on Friday, you can do this as a one off or put yourself regularly on the schulde. The commitment is 12:45 to 1:45pm. Family Fluro Fun Run!!
Date: Friday 26 March 2021 (entries close Wednesday 24 March)
Location: Madills Farm, outside the soccer clubrooms
Time: 5.30 – 7.30pm, run starts at 6.00pm
Cost: $10 per person, $40 max per family
It’s time to get your fluros out, dust off your running shoes, bring your family and join the fun at the Kohimarama School Family Fun Run.
There will be a 1km and a 2km run to suit all ages and fitness levels. Resident DJ Karl Bakker will be there with his sweet beats to keep you motivated, along with prizes.
Every registered runner will also have an entry into the spot prizes drawn on the night, including best dressed from the major sponsor Augustine!
Come for the run then stay for refreshments. Rebuild your energy with our $2 sausage sizzle. Thanks to Savory Construction for donating the sausages to sizzle! The soccer clubrooms will also be open for the Fun Run, offering a full cash bar should you wish to relax with a drink. Also don’t forget our BAKE SALE!

Class Coordinators
We are still looking for lots of class co-ordinators. As a quick recap this role is about becoming the central point of contact for the classroom. Key responsibilities are passing on communication directly from the PTA, facilitating social events and organising the end of year gift for your teacher. It is a commitment of about 1 hour a month.

Centennial Gala Dinner
We weren’t able to go ahead with our planning evening last week, this will now be held on Monday 15th March at 7pm in the staff room. It’s not too late to put your hand up. Any ideas you can bring to the table about ways to gather auction items would be amazing.

Regular Activities
If you buy ‘Yummy’ branded fruit collect the stickers or bag labels and we can exchange them for new sport equipment. Go to the Yummy Stickers page for more info.
We have a range of items. Prices depend on condition; roughly $25 fleeces, $15 polo t-shirts, $20 skorts and shorts, $15 sports t-shirts. Go to the Second-hand Uniforms page for more info.
Have you thought about joining a school walking bus? A short drive can be an amazing walk! If you’re interested in joining, go to the Walking School Bus page.
For an ice-block or slice of pizza (cheese or ham & pineapple) on Fridays, send along $2. They will be sold 1.15-1.30pm out of the Hall Kitchen window.
Look out for this term’s Scholastic Book Club flyers in the book bags. Please place any orders online (or view the online flyer) at the Scholastic Book Club. No paper orders will be accepted.
Pre-order by the end of the day Tuesday and fresh sushi will be delivered to school for your child’s Wednesday lunch. Go to the Sushi Wednesdays page for instructions.
