Year 4 sleepover
The Year 4 students had their sleepover on Thursday, 29th October. We were all so excited for our very first sleepover in the school hall. When we arrived, we set out our beds and went outside to play a lot of different games. After our fun games, we went inside to eat dinner. Eating dinner at school felt really weird for most people, but we had a delicious meal of hot chips, sausage rolls, pizza and a whole heap of other stuff. After dinner, we had to work as a team to try and create the longest paper chain. Every person in the group had their own role and we worked really well together. We then grabbed our torches and went outside in the dark to have orienteering. We had to look really hard for the clues and try and figure out the clues so that it would lead us to the next location. The next morning we cleaned up and enjoyed a delicious breakfast together. We had so much fun at our Year 4 sleepover.
Year 5 camp – Peter Snell Youth Village
On Monday the 23rd of November, the Year 5 students went to the Peter Snell Youth Village for Camp. Throughout the two days, each group took turns on 8 different, fun activities. Those activities included Frisbee Golf, Bivouac Building, Confidence Course, Initiative Course, Archery, Paintball, Volleyball, and the Water Slide. Each activity had a parent helper to supervise. On the first evening, we provided a mini show to the audience by performing their group chant. We then challenged the overnight parent helpers to also quickly put together a group chant and shared this confidently with the students. We played a few games together and then ended our evening off with a night walk through the Burma Trail. The parents hid in the bushes trying to give the students a small fright as they walked through. On our second day, we were fortunate enough to still complete all of our activity rotations before the heavy rain fell. We had such a great, fun time at camp and we truly appreciate all the parents who offered up their time to help out.

Final Assembly
Final Prizegiving Assembly – Tuesday 15th December 10.30am, Sacred Heart College
The Kohimarama School Prizegiving Assembly is our last day of school and all our students are expected to attend in correct school uniform. It is a great opportunity for us to meet together, celebrate the year and the outstanding achievements of our students.
In order for us to get there, students are transported by their parents to and from our Final Assembly at Sacred Heart College, 250 West Tamaki Road, Glendowie. Students in Cowley, Hillary and Snell Teams will meet with their class teacher at the front of the Auditorium at 10.00am and will walk in together as a class. Kiri Team students sit with their parents, so may arrive at 10.20am.
Students in the Ensemble Band, Choir and Kapa Haka need to be at the Auditorium at the times listed below, as we will be having a sound check for these groups before the Assembly begins.
Choir – 9.15
Ensemble Band – 9.30
Kapa Haka – 9.45
Car parking can be found on West Tamaki Road and Crossfield Road, plus Gate 4, which leads to a big parking area down by the pool. We expect the Assembly to finish by 12 noon, and students may be picked up from the front of the Auditorium at this time.
