Disco Madness

For weeks everyone from the Kiri to Snell team has been bustling with excitement as more and more tickets were being sold for the disco. As a student leader, I had a distinct idea of what the disco might be like and the number of students coming to the thrilling event. Finally, the day came. Friday. That afternoon Miss Hill, the student leaders, and I decorated the hall with bright neon streamers and blew up balloons to fill every corner of the hall. We set up a photo booth where friends can go crazy with funky hats, glasses, tutu’s, and flower necklaces. By 3 pm the hall was vibrant and striking when you walked in. Now almost 5 pm the year 1 to 4’s began to turn up dressed in neon, eye-catching outfits – not to mention plenty of tutus. Soon the school hall was packed with children either dancing, drinking juice, or snacking on chips. The DJ played thrilling music and lights flashed in all corners of the dance floor. In no time the Senior disco began. Fewer people came this time but everyone still had the time of their lives. The disco is a night where everyone comes to hangout be themselves and go crazy with dancing. The music roared as the lights flickered like lightning. Parents started to crowd the doors and we dragged them onto the dance floor with a final song. The epic night soon came to an end and being a year 8 I knew it would be a memorable night because it would be one of my final times with all my friends at school together like this.

The Kohimarama Way – Honesty

You know you are being honest successfully when you say what you mean and mean what you say, make promises you can keep, admit your mistakes, refuse to lie, cheat, or steal, tell the truth tactfully and are true to yourself and do what you know is right.
