A Messsage from the Deputy Principals

PTA

We would like to acknowledge the fabulous PTA for their work that is constantly happening behind the scenes in any activity, fundraising, or school event that our school embarks on.  With your support, we are able to come together as a community in a variety of ways to ensure our students have the best experience possible whilst at Kohimarama School – we really appreciate you.

Student Leaders

Whilst this year has been ‘quite’ disruptive and you haven’t had the same opportunities as you would usually have, we thank you for your service, the times you have stepped up and shown the leadership skills you have. You are awesome: Student Leaders, House Captains, Ambassadors, Peer Mediators, Librarians, and Road Patrollers.  We are looking forward to celebrating with you on Friday this week.

Final Assembly – Tuesday 15th December

Where: Sacred Heart College Auditorium
Time:  10.00am start (students to arrive at 9.30am)

Some changes to note:

New Trophies – we are very excited to announce the addition of two new cups to our Final Prizegiving Assembly:
1.  Rangatira ki Kohimarama Kapa Haka – This Tauira (student) demonstrates strong effort in all things kapa haka. They display the qualities of a rangatira (leader) which in Maori culture means they display integrity and respect to people, the land, the language, and all cultural treasures.
  1. English Language Learner Cup:   To the Year 7 or 8 student with English as their second language who has consistently achieved excellence in their attitude to learning, their contribution during English language time, and progress in learning the English language.

Change in Certificates for Years 0-3

Years 0-3 will no longer receive the Academic certificate, this has been replaced with a Commitment to Learning certificate. We believe this better captures the focus of learning for students in these Year groups.

The Kohimarama Way – Honesty

“Honesty saves you from remembering all the lies.”   “Honesty is the foundation for trust, you can’t have one without the other?”  “Tell a lie once and all your truths become questionable.”
