This is a call for help from the Kohimarama School PTA!

If you, or anyone you know has thought about getting involved with our school PTA … we need you now!

The PTA is in great shape, with a solid framework and draft 2021 calendar created – with events already underway or  owned by capable PTA members.

But we need two enthusiastic leaders to take up the co-chair positions in 2021 – this is a great opportunity for you (and a friend) to meet some new people and provides a perfect time to reimagine and potentially create a change in the way the PTA operates next year.

The PTA is an integral part of our strong community focused school and allows parents to support the school in a very positive and proactive way, creating a link between families and the school. It also encourages a sense of school community whilst raising valuable funds through the organisation of many events during the year.

Be a part of something special for our children.

We’d love to hear from you, to explore the possibility of adding your personality, experience and skills to our school’s PTA! Fundraising Events

TRIVIA NIGHT – OH WHAT A FUN NIGHT IT WAS!

Hockey, soccer, tennis and rugby fans and a raft of sporting ‘celebrities’ come out in force to outwit each other in our annual trivia night quiz. It was a tough battle between the teams but a last minute comeback saw ‘The Pundits’ being crowned this year’s champions (the jury’s out on whether it was general knowledge or the very generous ‘point buying’ that led to victory!). All in a good cause though as approx $6,500 was raised. Huge thanks to everybody who supported our trivia night.

Quiz-A-Thon – Final day for sponsorship $ to be returned please – This Fri 13th Nov

A friendly reminder please for sponsorship forms to be returned to the teacher with fundraising money (in cash) or if you prefer, direct deposit fundraising money into the PTA Bank account (if depositing funds to the PTA account, the form will still need to be returned to the teacher) by this Friday 12 Nov please.

Christmas Trees – order by 01 Dec 

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree … there is something truly special about a real Christmas tree!

We are again working with Zach’s Christmas Trees who will provide Kohimarama School a commission for any Christmas trees sold – the more trees sold, the higher the funds!

Christmas Treats! – Order by 26 Nov

Let us make your Christmas baking easy this year!  Arobake provides a smorgasbord of delicious Christmas treats perfect for gifts, family gatherings and Christmas parties, all without the workload and supporting our fundraising efforts at the same time! Order by 26th Nov via online shop, with collection of your Xmas Treats from the school on Sunday 6th Dec between 12.30-2pm

Christmas Cake – Fruit & Nut top or iced – $45
A buttery and fruit filled cake, soaked in sherry once baked. Beautifully flavoured with Christmas spices, adorned with nuts and cherries or with a traditional white icing. Finished in a gorgeous Christmas paper.

Mini Christmas Mince Pies / 200g – $20 per box
Delightfully packed with a spiced, sherry-soaked fruit filling and wrapped in a butter sweet pastry. Boxed so perfect for gifts or indulge yourself!

Vanilla Crescents / 200g – $20 per box
The Jem of the shortbread world. Hugely delicious, these little jewels are covered in icing sugar hot from the oven, removing them when cool to create these sugar encased, almond and vanilla sensations. Boxed so perfect for gifts – best seller!

Stollen / 550g – $15
A rich, yeast-risen cake encasing a marzipan log. This rum steeped, fruit filled wonder is immersed in melted butter before its rolled in sugar. It’s Christmas, indulge yourself!

Christmas Trees / 5 per pack – $10
Rich, chocolate shortbread, chocolate topped Christmas Trees. Great for gifts and the kids love them!

Calendar Art Fundraiser

Thanks for all of your support with the calendar artwork, final orders are in and we are just working through how much was raised. Early Dec products will be delivered to kids to bring home.

Book Launch:  Dish editor Sarah Tuck talks about her new book: stuck together

An evening with Sarah Tuck, where she’ll chat about her new book: stuck together at St Heliers Bay Café & Bistro on Mon 16th Nov at 6.30pm

You will receive a complimentary glass of Amisfield bubbles on arrival, then enjoy a selection of Sarah’s
delicious dishes made up as share plates and receive a signed copy of her new cookbook, plus a goodie bag.
