A Message from Kiri Team

Kia ora from Kiri.

We were lucky! Rooms 1, 2, 4, and 5 just managed to slip in a visit to the Howick Historical Village before alert level 3 was announced. The children looked so delightful in their olden day dress and the teachers too! The day was rainy and cold but even in these conditions the trip managed to be very successful. We take our bonnets and scarves off to the ladies at the village!

They ran a great day for us. The classes rotated between activities. There was butter making and tasting, playing olden day games in a beautiful parlour, acting out nursery rhymes, and discovering what was in the big blue trunk that came all the way from Ireland. We finished with a stern lecture about school life in the school house and some even experienced a caning! The children learnt many things, and  had a wonderful experience. Thank you Howick Historical Village for the special day you gave us.

The school Cross Country event was also a highlight,  we were lucky enough to have brilliant sunshine and dry running conditions. The students ran enthusiastically and showed great sportsmanship. Super effort by all.

The Kohimarama Way – Respect

“When I respect others, others respect me, and I like that.”  Year 5 student.  “Respect other people’s feelings.  It might mean nothing to you, but it could mean everything to them.”  “Respect should be the first thing you give and expect for yourself.”

2021 – Planning – Year 4 to Year 8 Students

Our current school roll is the highest it has ever been, and it will continue to increase through until the end of this year.

Because of this we are starting our 2021 planning earlier than usual to ensure we have the classes and structure to meet our growing roll, especially in our middle years 2-4 and in our intermediate area of Year 7 and 8.

To support us in this initial preparation we will be asking our Year 4 to Year 8 families to complete a Google Form indicating their plans for 2021.  This will be sent to you later this week.

Note :  As usual, we will be asking parents for any requests for class placement, teacher or to be with other students later in the year.

Many thanks for your support in assisting us with our 2021 planning.

No Food for Sale during Level 2

There is no Sushi on Wednesdays and no Ice Blocks/Pizza during level 2.

Photolife

Photolife will return in term 4 for all teams, groups, siblings and New Entrant classes.
