A Message from the Deputy Principals

- One of our neighbours contacted the school office to share how last Thursday they were struggling with their rubbish bins when two Kohimarama boys, who were on their way to school stopped and asked if they could help her. She accepted gratefully and wanted us to know how our two students had made such a positive impact on her personally and were so helpful with the task at hand. Thank you Ollie and Claudio.
- Two students at our school turned up last week with considerably shorter hair than the previous week. I bet you are wondering why? It turns out that the girls had their hair cut short because they wanted to donate their hair to the charity that makes wigs for cancer survivors. How incredibly compassionate, to be able to think of others’ situations and of a way that they could help. Thank you Samantha and Danielle. Thanks also to Georgia who did the same earlier.

Roll Return July 2020
Twice a year, in March and July, all schools in New Zealand are required to furnish to the Ministry of Education a return detailing all students enrolled at their schools. This return determines our funding and staffing for the remainder of the school year. If your child is going to be absent or late for any reason on Wednesday 1st July the office will require a letter or email from a parent/guardian justifying the student’s absence from school.
This correspondence is to be provided to the school office, at office@kohimarama.school.nz, no later than Friday 3rd July by 11am. Thank you in advance.
School Accessibility Modification Project
Contractors will be on site soon to start work on modifying school accessibility. This work will take around 10 weeks to complete. A lot of the work will be up around the Snell Team area and will also include entry to the school from both Kohimarama and Rawhitiroa Roads, access to courts and Kiri Team playground as well as additional handrails. Please take care around the site once this work begins.
FlexiBuzz
On the 30th June FlexiBuzz will be closing its current app. This gives us as a school the opportunity to gather feed back as to your preferred means of communications. A google form will be sent to the parent community shortly to enable us to gather this feedback.
