COVID 19 update from Kohimarama School
I am writing to inform you of a very, very low level risk to the school from COVID 19.
A parent who works at a medical clinic had a patient test positive for COVID 19. The parent was not in direct contact with the patient concerned and is currently well and has been deemed by Public Health to be unlikely to get the infection. However as an extra safeguard, the family has decided to self isolate as an additional precautionary step. I thank them for keeping us informed and for going over and above the Ministry of Health requirements. In talking with the family I assured them that the school community would maintain their privacy at this time in line with our school values.
Kohimarama School has consulted with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education about this matter and we are confident that there is extremely low risk to students, staff and parents of the school.
As a school we continue to monitor and ensure that the risk of contracting COVID 19 are minimised and that our pandemic plans are in place to respond in an appropriate and timely manner while keeping everyone informed.
Currently, NZ has low numbers of confirmed COVID19 cases. The Ministry of Health is updating information to schools on a daily basis and we are following their advice.
