A Message from Kiri Team
Tena Koutou Katoa
Week 5 already! Hasn’t the weather been amazing and what a happy group of children we have swimming everyday. Kiri Team started their two week swimming programme last week. The new Swimtastic pool in Mertons Road is a stunning new building, with superb instructors. The children are loving the bus trip to and from the pool( no sleepers yet)and have been making excellent progress. The children are coached in small groups of 6 or 7 with an instructor who introduces and teaches them new skills. There is plenty of practice of these new skills with the children swimming full lengths. They will be very tired by Friday!
Greats and Grands was a huge success with Kiri children sharing their learning at school and working through a Greats and Grands Passport. This passport was a set of activities to be enjoyed with the special people in their life. It was delightful to see the collaboration between young and old.
This Term Kiri Team are learning about Water and what a precious resource it is. There has already been some interesting discussions and ideas shared.
Discovery learning has continued to be a worthwhile platform for providing opportunities for exploration, creativity and collaboration. The variety of equipment and resources that have been sourced and donated has certainly supported this learning.
The Kohimarama Way this term is Compassion and children have been learning what this means to them through role play, stories, and pictures. They know being kind to their friends and others is very important.
Kiri Team would also like to welcome Sue Jacques and all the New Entrants to Kiri Team, hope you are enjoying your new space, it looks wonderful.

Creating Family Zone accounts
Our school will prepare the information required to create Family Zone accounts.
What information is required to create Family Zone accounts?
- Student information (for each student in the family)
○ First Name
○ Last Name
○ Date of Birth
- Parent/guardian information
○ First Name
○ Last Name
○ Email address
Why does Family Zone need the parents’ email addresses? Parents’ email addresses are required to provision the account and email the account set-up link.
Why does Family Zone need students’ date of birth? Creating family accounts requires the absolute minimum information; however, the students’ date of birth is an important element of PII (personally identifiable information) and it is essential that it be correct. The students’ date of birth also ensures your child is placed in the correct age profile in your Family Zone account.
How does Family Zone protect the data supplied? Please be assured that Family Zone takes privacy and security seriously. All data collected will be kept in strictest confidence in accordance with our Privacy and Customer Detail & Security Policy.
Opting Out If you don’t wish to use Family Zone outside of school hours, please respond to this email to opt out. Please note, if you decide to opt out, a Family Zone account will NOT be made for you, however your child’s internet access during school hours will STILL be required to adhere with our acceptable ICT usage policy, including with regards to unsafe networks (eg Mobile data).
