A Message from the Deputy Principals

Thank you Mrs Moore

Mrs Moore has been working in Room 24 for the last 5 weeks, ensuring our new entrant students are set up well for learning.  We really appreciate all her hard work and the positive way she has worked with our students making sure that their first 5 weeks at school have been the best they can be.

Greats and Grands Day  –  Friday 25th October

A fabulous morning at school, when we invite all Great grandparents and grandparents to come and visit with their grandchildren.  We look forward to this each year, as the greats and grands share their memories of school and work with their grandchild/ren.  We then have a morning tea for them in the hall. Grandparents are welcome anytime between 9.00am and 11.00am.  Morning tea 11.00-11.30am

Teacher Only Day  –  Tuesday 29th October

Teachers will be involved in professional development on this day, therefore our school will be closed.

Family Zone Meeting  –  Security on devices  Wednesday 16th October 7.00pm

Using Family Zone’s cyber safety solutions, parents and Kohimarama School gain greater visibility and manageability of children’s/student’s access to online environments across all their devices, on any network, helping us establish healthy routines to support positive behaviour for learning. We welcome you to our meeting in the school hall to find out how we at Kohimarama school are making devices at school even more secure and how you can do the same at home, if you wish.  There will be spot prizes that are definitely worth coming along for.

Kohimarama School Art Exhibition

Wow!  What an incredible, varied display of our student’s creativity.  For those of us who managed to make it along to view the Art Exhibition it was a real journey of discovery as we moved from screen to screen and around the display boxes of 2D and 3D work.  We are very proud of our students and give a big thank you to our staff who spent the time in supporting our students to complete such fine pieces of art. Thank you also to our PTA for providing support with the sausage sizzle on Wednesday evening, much appreciated.

The Kohimarama Way – Friendliness

Friendliness costs nothing, yet can change a persons day for the better.  Smile first, say hello to someone you haven’t met yet and introduce yourself to someone who looks like they came by themselves to a meeting.

Flippa Ball

We had a very successful third term in flippa ball with all the teams ending top 3 in their respective year and grade competition. We would like to invite year 2 pupils that are interested in joining next year to the practice sessions in term 4 (4 sessions). This will enable them to give it a go before joining the year 3/4 team in the first term. Year 3-5 pupils that have though about joining are welcome to join us as well to try it out. Please get in contact with Aldo Coetzee ( / 0211860934) if you have any questions or to arrange a “test drive”.
