A Message from Kiri Team

Tēnā koe from Kiri. It has been a very busy start for us in Term 3 down in Kiri. The  school disco was a huge success; we loved dancing and singing along in our movie star costumes.

The biggest day of the year finally arrived— the 100th day of school! We have been counting the days since we first started school in January and have finally reached one hundred, so of course we had to celebrate. There was counting and singing, sparkles and dancing and a delicious shared lunch. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our celebration and made it our favourite day of the year so far. As you can see we really enjoyed ourselves, check out all those menemenes!

The Kohimarama Way – Friendliness

How do we know we have successfully been showing friendliness?  We like ourselves and realise we have a lot to offer, we smile and greet someone we don’t know, we get to know someone and let them get to know us, we show an interest in others, we show caring when a friend needs us and we are friendly to people who look and act differently to us.

News

Student Achievement Discussions – Booking Instructions.

Student Achievement Discussion bookings are now closed.

Wednesday 14th August – School will finish for students at 3.00pm (as usual) with discussions starting at 3.30pm

Thursday 15th August –  School will finish for the students at 1.00pm with discussions starting at 1.30pm

We will have some capacity to supervise students in the hall where parents are unable to make alternative arrangements.  It is important that your child’s classroom teacher is informed by 9.00am on the morning of Thursday 15th August if you would like your child supervised in the hall.

School Cross Country Friday 16th August – at Kohimarama School

We are all looking forward to a fantastic Kohimarama School Cross Country event.

Please find below the finalised schedule of when we intend to begin races. I say, ‘intend to begin’ because as you know it depends on the number of pupils running on the day and the weather. All parents are welcome to come and encourage your child as they run our Cross Country course. Children are expected to stay on after races and will return to class. We will try our best to run on time however, we cannot guarantee exact times and we thank you for your patience.  We suggest you allow yourself 20-30 minutes before the scheduled time of your child’s race.

Spectators

We would really appreciate all spectators sitting/standing in the allocated areas on the day. Additionally, for safety reasons we would ask that you please do not bring dogs nor purchase treats to deliver to your child at the conclusion of their race.
