A Message from the Deputy Principals

Resurfacing the Cowley Playground

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Trivia Night that supported the PTA in providing funds to improve the safety of our Cowley Playground. As you can see in the photos we are all enjoying the improvement.  We appreciate all the work our PTA and parent community do to enhance our school environment and make it a safe place for everyone.

Congratulations to all the students for their participation. Thank you to the parents who helped out with transport, without your help our children would not be able to participate.

Invitation to our Year 4,5,6 and 7 Parents

It is that time of year when we ask the year 4,5,6 and 7 parents to an evening at school to learn about how the year 7 and 8 hub works. This meeting will be held in room 19 at  6.30 on Wednesday the 7th of August. It is our intention that this meeting will support you in making an informed decision about where your child will complete their Year 7 and 8 education. We believe that because Kohimarama School goes to year 8, staying here will provide consistency and leadership opportunities that will support with the transition to College. The programme we provide is outstanding in meeting the needs of these Intermediate years.

During the meeting we will outline the type of learning style and the way the hub works to support the students learning. There will be some current and past pupils to speak and an opportunity for questions. The presentation will cover the changes we have made and any new changes that are coming up for next year. We do hope you can come and learn all about us and what we are doing to enhance student achievement in our senior school.

Meegan Hill and Debbie Ellery

The Kohimarama Way – Friendliness

Friendliness keeps you and others from feeling lonely or left out.  It helps people fee that they belong.  When something good or bad happens, it feels good to share it with a friend.  Friendships don’t just happen – they are made by people who are willing to be themselves with each other

Student Achievement Discussions – Booking Instructions.

Student Achievement Discussion bookings are now open and close on Friday 9th August at 3pm.
Please leave a gap between your interviews if moving from one class to another so you do not lose some of your precious talking time.

School Cross Country Thursday 8th August – Madills Farm

We are all looking forward to a fantastic Kohimarama School Cross Country event/.

Please find below the finalised schedule of when we intend to begin races. I say, ‘intend to begin’ because as you know it depends on the number of pupils running on the day and the weather. All parents are welcome to come and encourage your child as they run our Cross Country course. Children are expected to stay on after races and will sit with the other children who are in the same House team. We will try our best to run on time however, we cannot guarantee exact times and we thank you for your patience.  We suggest you allow yourself 20-30 minutes before the scheduled time of your child’s race. If it is too wet, then we will run the school course instead.

We would really appreciate all spectators sitting/standing on the outside of the running track. Please be mindful of younger siblings as pupils will be running by where you are seated/standing. Additionally, for safety reasons we would ask that you please do not bring dogs nor purchase treats to deliver to your child at the conclusion of their race.
