Event News

Welcome back to term 3! It’s a busy term with lots of fun events and fundraising activity planned.

Kids Quiz-A-Thon – $12,500 raised

The kids all did super well with their quiz-a-thon raising a whopping $12,500 for the school. We appreciate the teachers support and your family and friends sponsoring our kids. These funds were allocated to rematting the Cowley playground and together with the additional funds raised from trivia night, it allowed for the upper areas of the playground also to be rematted, ensuring a safe play area for our kids.

How good does the Cowley playground now look!

Congratulations to our fruity kanuti winners:

  • Room 4 was the first room to get all their quiz payments in.
  • Room 6 raised the most money – almost $1k. Special mention to Room 14 too who were very close behind raising nearly $950.

Kids will receive a voucher from their teacher this week to enjoy a free fruity kanuti this Friday (available from the hall kitchen at big break).

Bi-Annual Chocolate Fundraiser is Back!

You will receive this week in the kids book bags, our info form on our chocolate fundraiser.  Full details are provided on this form, but in summary, each child will receive on Monday 05 August, a chocolate box (containing 36 small Whittakers bars) unless you complete the opt-out option at the bottom of the form indicating your preference to donate the profit ($30.00).

We understand not everybody loves chocolate but it is a great seller and something that can be easily sold outside the school community. We do encourage families to support this fundraiser recognising that this is a treat food that is should be sold to adult friends, family, colleagues etc. Funds raised will go towards purchasing new basketball uniforms and sports equipment along with the scheduled technology upgrades of new laptops, ipads and chrome books.

If choosing to opt-out and donate the profit, please ensure this opt-out form is returned to the office by Friday 2nd August. The $30 donation can be made via the schools online store (simply select the chocolate box donation item), via internet banking into the Kohi School PTA bank account: 12-3027-0332092-000 referencing Name, Room number and chocolate or by delivering an envelope containing cash/cheque made out to Kohimarama School PTA to the box in the office.

  • 23 July – forms home with opt out option
  • 05 August – chocolate box home
  • 05 – 23 August – Three weeks to sell chocolate ($2 per bar)
  • 23 August – Final day to return money

There are prizes too… for all kids who sell a box of chocolate there are spot prizes. Also rewards for the first class to return all their money and the child who sells the most boxes will also win a prize.
