Event News

COWLEY PLAYGROUND WILL BE RE-MATTED IN JULY SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!

Thanks to all of your generous support of trivia night and the online and silent auctions, we can confirm the extra funds needed were raised, enabling the Cowley playground to be re-matted over the July school holidays.  This will make a huge difference in ensuring this a safe play area for our kids.

Trivia Night Fun

Baywatch, The Block, Ninja Warriors, Downton Abbey and a raft of medical tv show ‘celebrities’ come out in force to outwit each other in our annual trivia night quiz. It was a tough battle but the very impressive Boss Hogg and his Crazy Dukes  were crowned this year’s champions (the jury’s out on whether it was general knowledge or the generous ‘point buying’ that led to victory!). All in a good cause though as $13,500 was raised from this years trivia night and auction. Special thanks to Independent Liquor who supported us on the night.

Kids Quiz-A-Thon

The kids have been learning a myriad of general knowledge all ready for their quiz-a-thon this week. We appreciate your support in family, friends & neighbours! sponsoring our kids, funds that will assist our school with its ongoing fundraising efforts.

26 June – sponsorship forms returned to teachers who will update how many questions your child answered correctly

03 July – final date for fundraising money to be returned:  in cash with form to teacher, or if you prefer, direct deposit fundraising money into the PTA Bank account (if depositing funds to the PTA account, the form will still need to be returned to the teacher)

The class which raises the most money and the first class to return all of their fundraising money, will each receive a free Fruity Kanuti.

Blokes Breakfast coming in August

We are looking for a volunteer to manage or co-manage this fundraising event – can you help?

Kirsten has fabulously managed this annual fundraiser since its inception a few years ago and has this event well planned. We are now looking for another person(s) to take on the event management with a group of trusty helpers and continue the great work Kirsten has done.

If you are interested or would like more information on what is required please contact Lynda  kohiptachair@gmail.com

Activity Update

Pizza Friday’s Coming to Term 3

As the cold weather approaches, the appeal for a Friday ice block may not be as appealing as it is does on a hot sunny day! Commencing Friday 26th July and for every Friday in term 3, we are trialling Pizza Fridays.  For $2 kids will be able to purchase a slice of Domino’s pizza – choice of two pizza flavours:  cheese or ham & pineapple. Please note only one slice of pizza per child each Friday will be provided.

No change to times or location – 1.15-1.30pm on Friday from hall school kitchen.

For those kids who still prefer an ice block, we will have a few available for sale.

Wednesday Sushi – Term Order

Do you order the same sushi each week?  If so, Rice Runner offers a term order, meaning you just place your order once at the beginning of the term, pay for it upfront and then your sushi will be delivered to your child every Wednesday of the term, without the need to have to place an order each week.

To order your sushi term order, email Vincent from Rice Runner on vincent@ricerunner.co.nz

Road Patrol Help – Looking for Fortnightly Friday Morning Volunteer

If you are able to give 30 minutes of your time from 8.25am-8.55am once a fortnight on a Friday starting in term 3, please email Lynda kohiptachair@gmail.com

Get involved and have your say in 2019

We are always looking for more parents to get involved – if you have some ideas we’d love to see you at our PTA meetings held the first Monday of each month in the school staff room, or happy to hear from you anytime – email Lynda kohiptachair@gmail.com
