A Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Soiree
Thank you to all involved in so many ways with the very successful Soiree held on Saturday evening. I was privileged to attend the cocktail hour ahead of the magnificent meal prepared by Josh Emett and accompanied by Helen Emett’s great organisation skills. Thank you to Mattie and her wonderful team, and the fantastic sponsors that support Kohimarama School. It was nice to see many of our new parents to Kohimarama School present. Thank you for your support.
Education Review Office
As you know, the ERO is here this week to review the school against the government’s priorities. They have already met with the Board and Senior Management Team and today, Tuesday, were visiting all of our classes after speaking with the Team Leaders. Our review team numbers three people. They are; Carleen Blucher (Lead Reviewer), Kay Lowe and Sandra Fifita Lamb. As members of our learning community, please acknowledge and engage them in conversation about our school if you see them in the grounds.
School Production
The school is continuing to prepare for what will be an amazing production in Week 10. Six performances involving every child in the school in some way is hard work. The teachers are to be commended for their enthusiasm and capability in making this happen. Special thanks go to the teachers in every Team who meet weekly with Debbie Ellery, Producer, to go over the next steps of making this a successful event for the school. Thank you to the many parents who are behind the scenes creating costumes and supporting practices of dance moves, etc. Week 10 will be a great celebration.
Paul Engles
The Kohimarama Way – Respect
“You can’t force someone to respect you, but you can refuse to be disrespected.”
“If you’re wrong, own up to what you didn’t do right. That’s how you learn and earn respect.”
“Respect and loyalty are not upgrades in a relationship they are a requirement.”
