Soirée & Fundraising Auction
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to and attended the Soiree on September 8. Our bi-annual auction evenings are the PTA’s biggest fundraiser and so important to our school. As promised, this year’s event was AMAZING with parents enjoying a fabulous night out while making almost $80,000 in profit!!!
This was a fantastic outcome for our kids. All of this money will be spent in 2019 on helping to make our School the best that it can be, with funds going towards improvements to the outdoor environment, technology and other resources.
The success of the Soiree would not have been possible without the vision and support of Helen and Josh Emett – thank-you both for your time and your incredible talent!! We’d also like to make special mention of Katie Oliver and Lauren Alberino who were responsible for collecting and marketing our amazing collection of auction items, Marina Nola for her fabulous organisation and also Anna Lawrence and Steve Gillet for making sure no one went thirsty on the night!!
We’d also like to thank Mission Bay Doctors for being a sponsor of the event and the following Kohimarama School families who sourced or donated items for the fundraising auction:
Andrew Barron, Sandra and Chris Aughton, Kristy Austen, Kirsten and Geoff Beggs, Hilary Blair, Mialy Bolger, Rachel and Matt Boswell, Jodie Campbell, Michelle and Rob Campbell, Amy and Dan Clark, Sarah Clayton, Kelly Coe, Balin Cupples, Frankie Donovan, Duane and Kara Eagle, Kate and Steve Evans, Marcia Gheerbrant, Cate Gibb, Chris Goad, Iva Goljerova, Emily Goodwin, Mark Jamieson, Angela and Martin Kneeshaw, Rebecca and Phil Heslop, Diane and Andrew Holmes, Anna and Andrew Lawrence, Jenny and Cam Lee, Jo and Scott McGregor, Sarah McIntyre, Lynda and Simon Millward, Malina Moore, Kat Morgan, Michelle Morpeth, Kellie and Jon Moyle, Gunther Neubert, Marina Nola, Jo Paton, Mattie and Justin Queale, Kate and Brett Russell, Kirsty and Aaron Scanes, Kerry Scott, the Seivwright Family, Iain Sutherland, Sarah and Julian Travaglia and Vivienne Withell.
And of course a huge thank you to Julie Kennedy and Barfoot and Thompson Kohimarama Branch who were our primary sponsor and provided us with our Auctioneer!
If you were at the Soiree then you will know how gorgeous the tables looked – and now we are selling some of the decorative items which we used. Please let us know if you would like anything.
- Tray – $10
- Glass Vase – $15
- Gold Mat – $5
- Goodie Bags – $20
Please deliver any Yummy Stickers you’ve collected over the year to PTA cupboard in the office by Wednesday 26 Sept so we can send them off and redeem for sports gear! Half filled sheets are fine… and then continue collecting for next year’s application.
We had two big events in just over a week! Another Blokes Breakfast was successfully pulled off on Friday 31 August. It’s not an easy thing to get 460+ small people and big blokes fed, coffee’d and photographed within an hour but thanks to the many helpers who came together, we made it happen on the day! We really love the good feeling this event generates within the kids and blokes community at our school.
Thanks Kirsten, for so capably pulling the event together and to our sponsors NZ Mint, Volt Espresso, Bakers Delight and New World Eastridge.
You are able to view and download your ‘selfie station’ photos if you want. hotshotsgallery.hotshotsphotobooth.co.nz/3108-Kohimarama-Blokes-Breakfast-2018/n-5PBcwk/
Parent Helpers Needed!!!
We are planning to sell snacks before each evening performance of Alex in Music Land, but we need some helpers in the tuck shop!! If you can help between 12.15 – 1pm on Monday or Tuesday, or between 5.15 – 5.55pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday OR Thursday night next week please email email@example.com. The tuck shop will close 5 minutes before show time, so you will have plenty of time to get to your seats if you are booked to watch an evening performance.
The annual Kohimarama School Greats and Grans morning tea is being held at 10am on Friday 19 October and we need a few people to help make tea and coffee. If you are able to help please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We urgently need extra parents to help out around the school, especially on Road Patrol. In the morning teachers are required to be in the classroom from 8.30am and don’t have time to stand at the road crossing keeping our kids safe. WE NEED PARENTS TO DO THIS. If you can spare 30 minutes (from 8.25am – 8.55am) once a week or fortnight please let us know. Contact Justine Boyd on email@example.com.
- Join the PTA mailing list to be in the loop with PTA meeting agendas, minutes and help requests.
- Come along to our next meeting on 5 November, 7pm in the school staff room.
- Volunteer to help out with one of the jobs listed or an upcoming event.
