Auction Catalogue & ‘Buy Nows’!
As in past years, we are pulling together an array of exciting items to auction at the Soiree. This year however, we are doing things a little bit differently. We are creating an online auction catalogue which you will be able to view in the lead up to the event.
Many of the items in the catalogue will have a BUY NOW price attached, allowing them to be purchased before the Soiree by anyone in the school community. We are planning to share a first cut of the auction catalogue by 23 August, and will be adding to it as more items are confirmed so make sure you keep checking back!! Also keep an eye on facebook for news about the Soiree.
We still need your help with Auction Items!
We need your help to make the Soiree a big fundraiser for our school. We still need more items to auction! No item is too big or too small!!
Do you have access to products, services or experiences that we can auction? Can you ask friends or family that may be happy to donate something? Holiday houses, boat trips, vouchers… If you have any ideas or questions please contact Lauren at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also looking for corporate sponsorship.
If your business would be interested in sponsoring part of the event – for example the cocktail hour, DJ or dessert, please email email@example.com.
Thank you to our key sponsor for the Soirée, Barfoot & Thompson and Julie Kennedy (Kohimarama branch).
Blokes Breakfast – Friday 31 August, 7.30-8.30am
Get the kids to bring along their special big bloke for a light breakfast in the school hall, with a few other surprises. Tickets are $5 per person, and on sale next week before school in Kiri (Monday 20th – Friday 24th August).
Breakfast & tea/coffee is included in the ticket price. Expresso coffee is available for purchase (bring cash – no eftpos.)
- Email in a photo of your kids with their Bloke to firstname.lastname@example.org. Send by Wed, 29 August so they can be displayed on the big screen on the day.
- You will be given a poster for the kids to draw a picture of their Bloke when you buy your tickets. Return to your classroom teacher by Wed, 29 August, so they can be displayed on the day. If you need another copy, you can print this A4 template: Draw My Bloke (PDF).
Fancy playground equipment and devices are great – but when it comes down to it, nothing is more important to our kids at school than a good teacher. We are lucky to have a group of amazing teachers at Kohimarama School and as a small token of our appreciation for their dedication and hard work, the PTA has decided to spend money raised from Sushi Wednesday on our teachers and other staff. We will keep you updated throughout the term on other things we have planned. If you have any ideas, or thoughts on our teacher appreciation initiative please email email@example.com
Scholastic Book Club
The latest Scholastic Book Club booklet has been delivered. Orders from the Issue 5 catalogue are due on 24 August. Please place any orders online at the Scholastic Book Club, as we are not processing paper orders. They also have an online version of the catalogue.
Parent Helpers Needed!!!
We urgently need extra parents to help out around the school, especially on Road Patrol. In the morning teachers are required to be in the classroom from 8.30am and don’t have time to stand at the road crossing keeping our kids safe. WE NEED PARENTS TO DO THIS. If you can spare 30 minutes (from 8.25am – 8.55am) once a week or fortnight please let us know. Contact Justine Boyd on firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Join the PTA mailing list to be in the loop with PTA meeting agendas, minutes and help requests.
- Come along to our next meeting on 3 Sept, 7pm in the school staff room.
- Volunteer to help out with one of the jobs listed or an upcoming event.
- Like our Kohimarama School PTA Facebook page
If you buy ‘Yummy’ branded fruit collect the stickers or bag labels and we can exchange them for new sport equipment. Go to the Yummy Stickers page for more info.
We have a range of items. Prices depend on condition; roughly $25 fleeces, $15 polo t-shirts, $20 skorts and shorts, $15 sports t-shirts. Go to the Second-hand Uniforms page for more info.
Have you thought about joining a school walking bus? A short drive can be an amazing walk! If you’re interested in joining, go to the Walking School Bus page.
For an ice-block on Fridays, send along $2. They are sold in last break out of the Hall Kitchen window.
Look out for this term’s Scholastic Book Club flyers in the book bags. Please place any orders online (or view the online flyer) at the Scholastic Book Club. No paper orders will be accepted.
